Zotrim’s Natural Ingredients

All of the active weight loss ingredients found in Zotrim are special extracts from South American Plants, all of which have been traditionally used for their invigorating and stimulating properties.

Zotrim’s formulated has resulted from years of research performed by an international team of experts, led by the weight loss expert Dr Lasse Hessel. This research included studies taken by Cornell University of New York, the Middlesex Hospital in London and several clinics in France and Denmark.

These plants used in the formulation for Zotrim have also been used for centuries in South America, as part of traditional food and drink, due to their beneficial effects including invigorators and stimulants. The three plants contained in Zotrim are:

Yerbe Maté (Ilex paraguariensis)

This is a small tree that grows throughout semi-tropical regions of South America and is part of the holly family.

It is now widely cultivated due to such high demand – in Argentina and Uruguay its leaves are used for hot drinks, making both tea and coffee.

This use is now becoming more popular around the world due to its invigorating and stimulating effects.

Guarana (Paullinia cupana)

This is a climbing shrub, growing up to 12m high. This plant is native to the Amazon and cultivated in Brazil. Its seeds contain 2-3 times more caffeine than coffee beans, and are ground to a paste that is popular in drinks.

This has, in fact, become the ‘national drink’ of Brazil after years of use by the native Amazonian tribes.

Guarana is mostly known for its stimulating effects and general health benefits – there is growing evidence that it can even improve mental and cognitive performance.

Damiana (Turnera aphrodisiaca)

This small shrub is found throughout the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. Its leaves have always been used traditionally to make tea, and they are collected during flowering. This drink is reputed to have aphrodisiac qualities and has been used for this purpose since the Mayans.

In history, Spanish missionaries reported back that Mexican Indians drank this tea as a way to enhance lovemaking, though it is now also promoted as a method of invigoration.
